SOME TIMES THE ESSENCE OF MY LIFE IS:
Sinful pastries from Tea Time, bubbling champagne, Elle Decoration, a sparkling diamond ring, lunch meetings at café Europa, tiny children‚s hands waking me up before 6 am, picnic in the park of Kongens Have, Vogue and a weekend stay at the seaside resort Svinkløv Badehotel.
MY FIRST JOB IN THE INDUSTRY:
I made a feature on a guy who was camping in front of the travel agency Kilroy Travels in the hopes of winning a trip around the world at the value of one Danish Kroner. My feature turned out alarmingly bad. I knew absolutely nothing about anything. But even to this day I am convinced that you, nevertheless, really need to venture yourself into it; broadcasting is all about hands-on experience ˆ because it is simply impossible to learn broadcasting just „in theory” ˆ you need to acquire knowledge of terms and skills through your actions.
GREATEST WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Undoubtedly when I got a phone call from editor Malene Malling who urged me to be part of the launching of Elle magazine in Denmark. After she hung up, I was crying in happiness; I knew rumour had it that a Danish version was, in fact, in the pipeline but I didn‚t have the courage to pick up the phone and ask myself. It was a huge step for me, and I am so eternally grateful to Malene !
MOST MEMORABLE BROADCASTING EXPERIENCE:
The day I lured Rasmus Nøhr into my broadcasting studio in Århus where he performed two of my favourite Rasmus Nøhr tracks „Sommer i Europa” and „Lykkelig Smutning”. I was this close to shedding a tear.
DREAM JOB:
Even if I am moving in a somewhat different direction, I am still dreaming of, no, actually I AM SURELY GOING TO make a documentary film some day, featuring an adventurous person such as Erna Hamilton. I know who „my character” is going to be, but for now I will keep that to myself. My role model within the documentary genre is and will always be Lars Engels ˆ and I fall in love each time I get to know a decadent personality in one of his documentaries.
NEXT PROJECT:
I am creating a book in my head - about how to be a mum and a business women at the same time. It will turn out great !
FAVOURITE MAGAZINES:
Eurowoman, Elle, Costume, Boligliv, Vogue, Cover, Dansk, - and all the others!
I LAUGH WHENEVER:
I love Danish satire. Such as Drengene fra Angora, Klovn, Normalerweize, Berthelsen og Gintberg.
ROLE MODELS:
I love Oprah, she‚s got it all: a big heart, and she is as stylish as she is intelligent. Then I also like the idea about Martha Stewart‚s “full package”. And nationally, I am a big admirer of Malene Malling, because she has the skill to think big. It‚s fabulous when women are succeeding with a perfect blend of stilettos and skill ! From a reporter‚s point of view, I believe that every woman ought to read all novels of Danish author Hanne Vibeke Holst. Particularly I recommend Min Mosters Migræne (My Aunt‚s Migraine).
THE LAST TIME I WAS PROUD OF MYSELF:
When my mum was devastated because her elevation bed seemed to be broken! I got stubborn! I started struggling with the entire electronic device positioned at the underside of the bed which meant that I had, practically, access only with my hands and couldn‚t see a thing. Unexpectedly, however, I worked out the problem. Perhaps I should have become an electrical technician ∑ I have absolutely no idea why I have the skills to work out a problem like that ! |
